Steven Huss is the Acting Cultural Arts Programs Manager for the City of Oakland, California. He oversees the City’s public art programming, cultural funding activity, Artisan Marketplace and other arts-related special projects and initiatives. Previously, he was for eight years the Executive Director of the Alameda County Art Commission. He is a member of the Port of Oakland’s Public Art Committee and serves on the steering committee for Northern California Grantmakers’ Arts Loan Fund.
Steven is also an independent consultant in the public art field and the co-founder and chairman of the Northern California Public Art Administrators Network. As a project manager for the Seattle Arts Commission, Mr. Huss co-edited A Field Guide to Seattle's Public Art (Sasquatch Books, 1991) and developed the CD-ROM Public Art Seattle v.1, essential guides to that city’s renowned collection.
